While you are out in the yard with the dogs, the phone rings about a holiday stay. Zenvox is an AI receptionist for pet boarding and dog daycare businesses across Canada, answering in your name in English or French: she takes the boarding request in full — dates, animal, required vaccines, medications, emergency contact — and leaves the spot for you to confirm. She gives no opinion on a vaccine and makes up no news. It is $29 CAD a month with 50 Standard calls and a local number, no setup fee and no contract. Free trial: 7 days, 20 answered calls, no card.

The text you get

Boarding request — Mocha, Lab, five years old, neutered. December 23 to 30. Joint tablet in the morning. Vet: Maple Grove Clinic. Emergency: Julie Lavoie, 905 555-0110. Callback: Eric Lavoie, 905 555-0167.

For the requests you receive

The holiday stay, booked early

The arrival and departure dates and times, the animal and the proof required are recorded in one go. The request reaches you complete; you confirm the spot or offer other dates, without calling back to ask the questions.

The first daycare day

The caller wants to socialise their dog. She notes the breed, age, spay or neuter status and stated behaviour with other dogs, and books the assessment if you run one, without promising admission beforehand.

The vaccine proof missing the day before

The reminder before arrival lists the proof you ask for. If the caller says they do not have it, she notes the name of the animal’s vet and passes it on: admission stays your decision.

Other requests you can delegate

“How is my dog doing?”

The owner is travelling and worried. She checks who she is speaking to, takes the question and passes it to your team; she does not make up news.

A sick animal before the stay

The caller rings because their dog is unwell. She does no triage: she points them to their vet or an emergency animal hospital, and logs the call for you.

A complete boarding request, the spot confirmed by you

Martin finds the complete request when he comes in: Mocha, five-year-old neutered Lab, December 23 to 30, morning tablet, vet and emergency contact recorded. He checks his capacity for the holiday week and confirms; no spot had been promised on the phone.

Monday, 4:15 p.m. Martin is walking the yard with the daycare group. A client calls about a stay over the holiday break.

ReceptionistBrookside Boarding, good afternoon. Let me take your name and a callback number first.

ClientEric Lavoie, 905 555-0167. I would like to board Mocha from December 23 to 30.

ReceptionistNoted. Is Mocha a dog or a cat, what breed, and how old? Spayed or neutered?

ClientA five-year-old Lab, neutered. He takes a joint tablet in the morning.

ReceptionistI am noting the tablet as you said it. A stay requires his vaccines to be up to date, with proof before arrival: who is his vet? And who can we reach while you are away?

ClientMaple Grove Clinic. My sister, Julie Lavoie, at 905 555-0110.

ReceptionistThank you. I am passing your request to the team, and they will confirm the spot. Medications come in their original packaging.

What she does for your boarding or daycare business

A spot depends on your dates, your runs and what you know about the animal. She takes every request in full, repeats your rules, and leaves the confirmation to you.

When an owner asks for a stay

  • She takes the name and callback number before the dates.

A boarding request without a callback number cannot be confirmed.

  • She records the arrival and departure dates and times, and each animal in the household.

Two dogs from one household are two boarders to plan for, not one.

  • She logs the stay as a request to confirm, not as a booked spot.

You keep the decision on your capacity, even at the height of the holidays.

  • She answers about your services, drop-off hours and holidays, as you wrote them.

An arrival time on a holiday follows your rule, not a guess.

When proof and instructions are needed

  • She reads your vaccine and parasite-prevention requirements, and notes the animal’s vet.

The proof arrives before the animal does, not on the counter that morning.

  • She records medications, diet and allergies as the owner states them.

Nothing is adjusted over the phone; instructions are confirmed with you in writing.

  • She records the emergency contact for the stay.

Your team knows who to reach if something happens while the owner is away.

  • She sends the pre-arrival reminder with the list of proof and instructions.

The owner gets the record and medications ready before leaving home.

When daycare starts, or continues

  • She books the daycare assessment into the slots you open.

The first day starts with your assessment, if you run one.

  • She notes the breed, age, spay or neuter status and stated behaviour with other dogs.

You know what to expect before you meet the dog.

  • She checks the package on record before adding a daycare day.

A client’s say-so does not add a day to the package.

When something goes wrong

  • She passes an incident, a bite or a worry during a stay to your team right away.

The exact words of the call reach you; she neither reassures nor assesses.

  • She points an animal that is sick at home to its vet or an emergency animal hospital.

She does not triage an animal she has not seen.

  • She checks who she is speaking to before passing on a request for news about a boarder.

News about an animal is not given to just any caller.

Packages, deposits and email

Each of these options is added separately, when it is useful to you.

  • Without connected software, she keeps the boarding requests and passes them to you; the spot is confirmed in your own tool.

No capacity calendar is presented as synced.

  • Add-on

She tracks daycare packages, pauses and renewals as dated requests.

Renewing a package no longer depends on your memory. Memberships and packages

  • Add-on

She sends your provider’s deposit link with your boarding confirmation.

A spot held in a busy period is held by a deposit actually received. Deposits and payments

  • Channel

She reads booking emails, drafts the reply and attaches the conversation to the request.

A request written at night joins the one taken on the phone. Email inbox

What she does not do, in boarding and daycare

  • She confirms no spot and no dates.
  • She admits no animal without the proof you require.
  • She does not say whether a vaccine is enough.
  • She adjusts no dose and judges no medication.
  • She gives no news that was not passed to her.
  • She takes no door code and no key.

What you can ask her yourself

She answers from the calls, requests and business information you are allowed to access. A question about an option only applies once you have switched it on.

  • The questionWhich boarding requests are waiting for my confirmation?

She reads back the requests recorded, with the dates, the animals and the proof announced. She does not know your capacity.

  • Which of next week’s boarders have not sent their vaccination proof?

She reads back the requests where the proof was announced as missing. She does not read your files outside Zenvox.

  • Which daycare packages expire this month?

Add-onWith Memberships and packages: the packages on record and their end dates. Without the option, she does not track packages.

What happens to the request

  1. You write your rules once

Your services — boarding, daycare, cats or not —, your arrival and departure hours, holidays included, the vaccines and parasite prevention you require, your rule for medications, the daycare assessment if you run one, and your cancellation policy.

  2. She takes the request in full

Name and callback number first. Then the stay or the days wanted, each animal in the household, the proof, the medications and the emergency contact. The daycare assessment is booked into your slots; the stay remains a request.

  3. You confirm the spot

The request reaches you with the call summary. You confirm or offer other dates; the confirmation goes out by message, and the reminder before arrival lists the proof and instructions.

What the Salons, gyms, classes & shops base covers

A receptionist who answers in your name, in both languages, takes every boarding request in full and passes it to you to confirm the spot. No setup fee, and you keep your number.

  • Calls answered in French and in English, following the caller
  • Your rules stated as written: vaccines, parasite prevention, medications, drop-off hours
  • The boarding request recorded in full and passed on for confirmation
  • The daycare assessment booked into the slots you open
  • The daycare package checked in your records before a day is added
  • A written summary after every call, readable in the app, and the option to ask her what happened

She confirms no spot and no dates: the boarding request is passed to you, and you confirm.

Decisions that stay with you
  • She does not say an animal will be admitted without the proof you require.
  • She does not say whether a vaccine is enough or when to give it: the animal’s vet speaks to that.
  • She adjusts no dose and judges no medication: she writes down what is stated.
  • She gives no news about a boarder that your team has not passed on.
  • She gives no drop-off time outside yours, and takes no door code or key.

Ask your receptionist, too

This is included in your base plan. She answers using the calls, requests and business information you are allowed to access.

Talk to your receptionist

A question you can ask

Which holiday boarding requests are waiting for my confirmation?

She reads back the requests recorded, with the dates, the animals and the proof announced. She does not know your capacity: you confirm the spots.

What else you can hand to her

Beyond the base plan. Each one is added on purpose, separately from the base. None is switched on unless you choose it.

Memberships and packages

If you sell daycare in day packages, she tracks the package, pauses and renewal as dated requests, based on the rights on record.

Deposits and payments

To hold a stay in a busy period, your payment provider’s deposit link travels with your confirmation, and the follow-up stops when the payment lands.

AI email inbox

When owners write to book or to announce a proof, she reads the new messages, drafts the reply under your rules and attaches the conversation to the boarding request.

When your customers prefer to write

You can add a channel so she can continue the conversation with your customers. Any action she takes follows the same rules and the options you have chosen.

Optional customer channel

Your email inbox

Answer a boarding request by email under your rules, and attach the conversation to the same request as the call.

The transactional messages provided by your base plan and your own questions to the receptionist remain included.

A boarding request is an animal, dates and proof

You are out in the yard with the daycare group, or feeding the boarders, when the phone rings. The caller wants to book for their holidays, to know whether you take cats, or to add a daycare day to their package. Each of these requests needs a precise answer, and you cannot drop what you are doing.

A spot is not promised over the phone: it depends on your dates, your runs and what you know about the animal. Your receptionist takes the request in full — the animal, the arrival and departure dates and times, the vaccines you require, the medications, the emergency contact — and passes it to you. You confirm the spot.

She repeats your rules as you wrote them: vaccines, parasite prevention, medications in their original packaging, holiday drop-off hours. She does not say whether a vaccine is enough, adjusts no dose and gives no news about a boarder that your team has not passed on.

Pet boarding and dog daycare — your questions

Can she confirm a spot?

Not on her own: she takes the boarding request in full and passes it to you, and you confirm the spot. The daycare assessment, on the other hand, is booked directly into the slots you open.

What does she say about vaccines?

She reads your requirements as you wrote them and reminds the owner to send proof before arrival. She does not say whether a vaccine is enough or when to give it: she refers the owner to the animal’s vet.

Can she take medication instructions?

She records the medication, dose and timing as the owner gives them, and repeats your rule, such as original packaging with the vet’s label. She adjusts nothing; the instructions are confirmed with you in writing.

A travelling owner calls for news. What does she do?

She checks who she is speaking to, takes the question and passes it to your team. She gives no news that was not passed to her, and a worry becomes a priority message.

What if I do not take cats?

She says so clearly, as your rule is written, and assumes nothing. If you want to see those requests anyway, she records them for you.

Do I keep my number?

Yes. You forward your line to Zenvox whenever you want — all the time, only when you do not pick up, or on a schedule.

I already use boarding software. Do I keep it?

Yes. Boarding software such as Gingr, PetExec, Kennel Connection or Revelation Pets manages stays, capacity and vaccination records. When yours connects, it stays the system of record; otherwise, Zenvox keeps the boarding requests and passes them to you, and the spot is confirmed in your own tool.
