What you delegate

What does an AI receptionist do for my business?

It answers calls, asks questions suited to your industry and records the request. Under your base plan’s rules and available permissions, it can arrange the next step, such as an appointment or a handoff to your team.

Add-ons introduce further tasks. Your industry page separates included reception, useful additions and decisions that remain yours.

Can I use it alongside someone who already answers calls?

Yes. You decide when calls are routed to it and where requests should go. It can take over while your team is busy, depending on the forwarding available on your line.

A delivered request and an accepted transfer are different outcomes. Your instructions specify what to do when someone cannot take the call.

Can I ask it questions about my business?

Yes. Every owner can ask their receptionist about the business data they authorise it to access: requests to follow up, appointments or known information in a file.

This is separate from automatically answering customers by text, email or social messaging. Those customer channels are selected separately.

Getting started and trying it

Do I need to understand AI to set it up?

No. Answer questions about your business: services, hours, service area, contacts and a first task to delegate. Then test a situation and adjust the useful information.

The standard journey does not ask you to program, write technical prompts or create an API key.

Can I start without a website?

Yes. After confirming your email, your website is an optional way to help prepare your information. Without one, provide it yourself. Either way, confirm the facts before they are used to answer customers.

Can I try the add-ons too?

Yes. The free trial runs for 7 days and covers up to 20 answered calls, with no credit card. It lets you test your receptionist and the add-ons relevant to your first task. Start with your email, then choose useful add-ons.

Trying an add-on still requires the account connection or permission needed for an action in a third-party service.

Base plans, add-ons and usage

Why choose a base plan by industry?

The work to organise differs: a unit and management mandate in real estate, a vehicle and shop resource in automotive, or a patient and practitioner in healthcare. Your base defines reception and rules suited to that work.

Industry pages show the starting price, included calls and base tasks. Your specific line-of-work page explains the situations that apply to you.

Do I have to buy add-ons or pay a setup fee?

No. You can choose the base plan alone. There is no setup, activation or configuration fee.

Add-ons address further needs. Before choosing one, check its added tasks, requirements and any third-party service needed. A feature already included in your base does not need to be purchased again.

How do I know whether the included volume is enough?

Compare the calls you want to delegate with the volume shown for your base plan. You can then review usage in your client space.

Each base has a defined included call volume. Check capacity conditions and your offer summary before adding volume; written customer replies are a separate use.

My number and customers

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Keep your number and forward calls. Available configurations and any carrier fees depend on your line and phone plan.

Your base also includes a local number. Choose the arrangement after preparing and testing your receptionist.

What happens outside my business hours?

It follows the instructions for those hours: answering from your business information, recording a request and notifying the designated person when your rule calls for it.

Receiving a call does not promise that your team is available. Appointments, transfers and urgent requests follow your rules and authorised actions.

Can it answer in French and English?

Yes. French and English reception is included in the base plans. Prepare your business information and instructions. Additional language needs have a dedicated feature page.

Does the voice have a Quebec accent?

Yes. In French, your receptionist speaks with a voice from here, with a natural Quebec accent — not generic synthetic French. Your callers hear someone who talks the way they do, with the words of your trade.

Several voices, female and male, and several styles are offered in every base, at no extra charge. You choose by hearing the preview say your own sentences, before you publish.

Does it sound like a robot?

You hear it before deciding: the preview reads your business name, your first question and your closing line, in both languages. The voice, the accent and the pace are those of a conversation from here.

The receptionist introduces itself as your business’s assistant at the start of the call and announces recording when it is on. It does not pass itself off as a person; it simply talks like someone from here.

Software and messages

Do I have to replace my current software?

No. Check your software’s page for supported actions, account requirements and permissions. Reading a file, creating a request and changing an appointment are distinct operations.

When an action is unavailable in your software, the workflow may retain the request in Zenvox for your team to handle. A saved request does not mean it has been synchronised.

What if I do not use business software?

Start in Zenvox to find your contacts, requests and next tasks. Prepare the information and availability your work needs without buying a third-party tool just to receive a request.

If you later use another system for appointments or files, choose clearly where that information should be kept up to date.

Can it answer texts, emails and social messages too?

Yes. Select optional customer channels according to your needs: SMS, website chat, email and social inboxes. Each channel explains required accounts, available actions and reply rules.

Your consent and access to an account do not remove the channel’s rules. Your own conversation with your receptionist remains a separate use.

Keeping control

Can it decide a price or give professional advice for me?

You define what it can say and which actions are authorised. It can share a price or instruction you approved; that does not allow it to invent a project price, diagnosis or professional opinion.

Your industry pages identify decisions reserved for your team and add-ons that prepare a file before your approval.

How do I know which data it uses?

You choose the information supplied to your receptionist and software permissions. Answers about your business rely on authorised data; missing information remains marked for checking.

The Security page explains data handling and links to privacy and subprocessor documents.

Where can I find the rules for cancelling or retrieving my data?

Subscription settings and help pages explain cancellation, data export and number porting. Check the effective date and operations concerned before confirming your request.

These are separate actions: ending a subscription, exporting files and moving a number do not produce the same outcome.

Does the answer depend on your work?

Industry pages explain your requests, relevant add-ons and decisions specific to your work. The help centre then guides settings and everyday tasks.
